I have been thinking a lot lately of how we are so consumed with our personal situations, that we forget about the “other person”. They are going through similar situations too! What if we all changed our attitude and thought instead to pay it forward?
If you haven’t seen the movie called the same thing, Pay It Forward, it’s a “must-see”. It came out in 2000, and it’s about a young boy who attempts to make the world a better place after his teacher gives him that chance. The three main actors are: Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt, and Haley Joel Osment.
I strongly urge you watch this 2 minutes video clip of the movie, and just imagine if we did this in our world. The impact is massive!
I’m a personal development, motivational, success junkie, and I’m reading a book that had this quote (by H.R. White) in it. It’s profound in my opinion, and has no direct relation to the movie, but is along the same lines of thought.
“Each smallest act of kindness reverberates across great distances and spans of time, affecting lives unknown to the one whose generous spirit was the source of this good echo, because kindness is passed on and grows each time it’s passed, until a simple courtesy becomes an act of selfless courage years later and far away.”
Now that I’ve got your mind thinking, how can you “pay it forward” in your life? How can you offer help with no intention to get something back? I’m just blown away at how this one simple concept could literally change the world if we all did it. I know this will not happen, but if you’re reading this, go out today and do something kind and generous to someone you don’t even know and let it go out to the universe.
With this same thought process, start trying to think about how you can help other people.
And as always, I’d love to hear from you! Give me a shout out down below and some FB or Twitter love! Thanks so much!
